Judy L. Ostrander, attorney

Judy L. Ostrander was born and raised in West Michigan. After graduating high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration at Western Michigan University, where she earned the Outstanding Senior Award. Judy Ostrander fufilled a childhood dream by earning her law degree at the University of Notre Dame. She remains a loyal fan of the Fighting Irish and has served on the local Alumni Club Board of Directors.

Ms. Ostrander has been practicing law for over 20 years. During the first decade of her career, she served as Public Defender at the Kent County Office of the Defender. She represented thousands of indigent Defendants accused of various felonies ranging from shoplifting to the most serious capital offenses.

In 1992, Judy Ostrander opened her own private practice law firm. Currently, her practice emphasis is famliy law, with much of her time devoted to representing children. She also represents parents from all walks of life. Her experience in Juvenille and Family Law includes acting as Lawyer/Guardian ad Litem, in delinquency and neglect/abuse proceedings. In addition, she is often asked to serve as Guardian ad Litem for children whose parents are involved in custody or parenting time disputes.

Judy Ostrander is the mother of two young adults. Her older son is a student at the University of Michigan and her younger son is a student at Western Michigan University. Having experienced a divorce when her children were young, she understands how the experience of a divorce can affect children.
